I was really pleased to do a follow-up review for the people at Your Baby Can Read and Parent Blogger Network because honestly, I was a satisfied consumer the first time around.

Bottom-line: Your Baby Can Read Volume 2 did not disappoint me or Bumper.
Bumper loves the songs (Old MacDonald, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and I'm a little teapot) and she loves watching the children and animals.
I love that there are no commercial characters, it is not too fast paced, and I especially love the way Bumper and I have fun yelling out the words with (or before) the pronunciation voice-over. The focus of volume two is to build on the words introduced in volume one by adding another 50 new key words.
Like the original DVDs, each word is shown on the screen for the child to see before the audio/visual cues. The vocabulary segments alternate with sing-a-longs (Bumper's favourite segments by far) and audience participation is encouraged through-out the program.
Once again, the DVD includes flashcards. Two different kinds came with Volume 2: the double-side Sliding Word & Picture Cards and regular flashcards with words only.
It was very easy to engage Bumper in the sliding cards but the word-only cards didn't interest her. I used the word-only cards to reinforce frequent words we use everyday but otherwise they were too advanced for a 22-month old. The sliding cards are superior to any other flash cards I have tried, and Bumper is game for "playing" with them any time.
So overall, I still love this product and while we don't want tv all the time, I prefer this to many of the television choices out there.
I can recommend the dvd series because it's non-commercial, well-paced, and it's easy to navigate (because some days we like to jump to just the songs) and Bumper enjoys it because it's fun.
And really, that is the most important thing: she enjoys the DVD and the sliding flash-cards because they are FUN.
